Federal Investment Tax Credit ITC:
The federal government has recently extended through December 2016 the 30% Investment Tax Credit for solar energy property. Net Metering Credit::
A Grid-Tied solar electric system can produce excess electricity which will be fed back to the utility company grid (Yes it is true your meter will run backwards) in which case you will receive a credit for the electricity that you feed to the grid. You can then draw on electricity from the grid using the credits.
3- Reliability and Maintenance:
High reliability and low maintenance are two more important features to take into account.
Most PV Solar panels come with a 25 year warranty, however panels are known to last at least 40 years. Inverters have a 2 to 5-year standard warranty (10-year extended warranty available).
